Good risks

Low downside, low probability, high upside

To me these types of decisions are often the hardest to make in the moment, but the most consequential in life. The decisions you make knowing the outcome even before it happens are never going to be the ones you look back on in your highlight real.

The moments that make your highlight real for a day, a week, a year, or your life are the ones that might not have happened if it weren’t for a bold move on your part.

At the same time, you don’t want to make too many foolish moves. There is value in scarcity. “If everything is special, nothing is special.” And the inherent scarce resource is time and attention.

Recognizing when an opportunity opens up to take a low downside, low probability, but high upside decision is half the battle. Finish a victor and take action the next time you see one open up.

Expect nothing, hope for everything.
